A Seiko Lord Matic 5606-7500 is a Japan-market automatic from the early 1970s: green sunburst dial, LM mark, day and date, original bracelet. On this example the dial has not aged. The case carries ordinary use. The movement has been fully serviced.

What Seiko Lord Matic was

Lord Matic arrived in 1968 as the automatic successor to Lord Marvel, sitting under King Seiko and Grand Seiko and above Seiko 5. The point was the calibre. Suwa’s 5606 is a 23-jewel automatic that can also be hand-wound, with hacking seconds and a quick-set day and date. It beats at 21,600. Seiko later used the same 56-series architecture, with higher finishing, in automatic King Seiko and early automatic Grand Seiko. The Suwa mark under “23 JEWELS” on this dial is the factory signature for that movement.

What is Good About This 5606-7500

The dial code is 7500T, which is the green-dial member of the 5606 cushion case. Applied bar markers, dauphine hands, kanji day beside the date at 3. English and kanji share the day wheel. The green is a radial sunburst: dark at the edge, brighter through the centre, and it shifts as the light moves. No spotting, no reprint, no age on the print.

The steel case is the rounded cushion of this reference, about 36 mm, 18 mm lugs. Brush and polish are still readable. There are usage marks — light lines, not a later full polish that has erased the edges. The original Lord Matic bracelet is on the watch: signed, period, matched to the case rather than a later strap.
