Concept:

The Seiko 5Actus SS, the ancestor of the modern-day Seiko 5 series.
Many may not know where the 5Actus comes from, the 5 from 5Actus is actually Seiko's 5 principal attributes of design

1. Diaflex (unbreakable mainspring),
2. Diashock (Seiko's shock-resistant design, equivalent to the Swiss "Incabloc"),
3. Automatic winding,
4. day/date indication, and
5. Water-resistant.

All Seiko 5Actus watch are fitted with automatic movement, Seiko is so proud of its automatic movement they even hide the crown of the vintage 5Actus series in part of the case as users of these movements will not need to wind the watch up while wearing it daily.
An applied "SS" logo is also found on some of the Seiko 5Actus models which mean the short form of Second Setting. Examples with the SS logo are housing movement with hacking function.
This particular Seiko 5 Actus SS example 6106 7440 manufactured in 1969 was fitting a cushioned case with the crown of the watch perfectly blends into part of the watch case. Besides, the date changing mechanism of the movement is rather special. By pressing the crown into the watch, the date will click and change automatically. Because of its complex mechanical setup and users' misunderstanding, a large number of the vintage Seiko 5 movement's date-changing functions are broken in years of operating. We are proud to offer an example that works perfectly fine.
The case of this 6106 7440 perfect to pair with a nato strap and fit for all occasions.
In a watch with this age, it is an Epic piece.
