 King Seiko 4402: A Timeless Classic from Japan's Finest

Crafted in the 1960s, the King Seiko 4402 was perceived as Seiko's top-tier product and an internal rival to the Grand Seiko. Created as a response to the Swiss Watch Industry, the King Seiko paved the way for Seiko's entrance into the global market. With ultra-accurate Chronometer-rated movements that earned Seiko a championship in the Swiss Chronometer Competition, a mirror-finished case flaunting a unique design, and the expertise of master craftsmen, the King Seiko 4402 embodies the epitome of vintage Japanese dress watches.

The 44-9990 King Seiko (KS) was the first in the series to adopt Seiko's Grammar of Design and the second King Seiko ever crafted, King Seiko 4402 as its successor have live up to its expectation. This model showcases a more smooth case shape compare with the 44 King Seiko and laid the foundation for the future King Seiko designs. The 4402 KS, is at a perfect size at 36mm with a mirror-finished case and sword hands, exudes a clean, sharp aesthetic. This King Seiko undoubtedly served as inspiration for today's Grand Seiko series.
