Concept:
When talking about Japanese watches, there are two long rivals that we have to highlight. Yes, you got me. It's Citizen and Seiko.
Citizen and its long rival Seiko  went tit for tat during the 1960’s and 70’s, the competition was so close that some of the watches by Seiko and Citizen are not distinguishable from a short distance.

The watch we are bringing along today is from Citizen and it will be easy for you to spot that this is no ordinary Citizen dress watch, it is Citizen's answer to Grand and King Seiko. This finishing quality and design of the watch is at the same level as its competitor. By its look, it looks similar to an early King Seiko as well.

The watch we are offering is a Citizen Chrono Master, Citizen's answer to the high-end domestic dress watch segment that Seiko dominated in the 1960s. The first Citizen Chrono Master was released in 1968, and fitted with a multidimensional designed watch case measuring at 37mm. In my opinion, the Citizen Chrono Master sits right at the sweet spot of size, the 37mm gives the watch enough presents and modern feeling on the wrist and yet it is slim enough to slip right under your shirt cuff.

The place Citizen Chrono Master truly score from other Japanese dress watches is when you flip the watch over. The Citizen Chrono Master is fitted with a Gold Phoenix Medallion. The quality of the Medallion is made in a more solid way compared with King and Grand Seiko from the same era. The case back was engraved with kenji text meaning to celebration of 25th work anniversary in 77 Bank in Japan. These cashback engraving often brought my mind to the good old days on how a banker's life is in the greatest era of Japan in 1970s.

The movement of the Chrono Master is a fine-tuned 0940 caliber, a manual wind 22-jewel movement that beats at a leisurely 18,000 bph. The movement in all the Chrono Master is regulated at a much higher standard compared with other 09 series movements used in other Citizen watch lines such as Homer.

Finally, let’s move on to the dial. The Citizen Chrono Master is fitted with a silver sunburst dial, instead of a printed name, both the Citizen logo and the Phoenix used an applied logo specially made for Chrono Master. The Phoenix logo has given the watch the premier dial finishing that it deserves as the top of the line Citizen Dress watch in the 70s.

We are proud to offer yet another classic dress watch to our watch community. I have put the watch on my wrist, and it just feels amazing! We are sure you will love it as much as we do.

Looking for something special to accompany your Grand Seikos, this is it!
