The Seiko Lord Matic, the successor of Seiko's famous Lord Marvel Line. Most watch geeks may have heard about the Lord Marvel 36000 fitted with the 5740C (36,000bph) movement in Lord Marvel and its special place in the JDM market as the first pukka high beat watch.

Seiko issued the Lord Matic line hoping to continue the legacy of Lord Marvel. This is an extremely high expectation to a new line of watches, but thanks to the design genius in Seiko, they did it! 

Seiko launched the Lord Matic line in 1968, fitting all Lord Matic models with a sophisticated 56 series movement and high-quality case design and finishing. The watch that used to be one notch below King Seiko line have taken off in market demand. Seiko have used a much higher standard in the hi-beat movement used in Lord Matic Special watches, the 5216 movements built with a much higher standard of accuracy compare with the 56 series used in most Lord Matic watches. Seiko uplift the accuracy by increasing the beat rate of the watch from 21,600 bph to 28,800 bph making the Lord Matic Special a true Hi-beat watch. 

This special new movement in Lord Matic Special has also formed the basis for King Seiko Special which beat at the same rate but a more fine-tune accuracy. So you can treat the Lord Matic Special as a King Seiko Special alternative as well. Unlike most King Seiko and Lord Matic where they are manufactured by the Suwa Seikosha, the Lord Matic Special line of watches were manufactured by the other internal rival from Seiko - the Daini Seikosha. The 52 series movement bearing the special name regarded as one of the most accurate movement Seiko has ever manufactured.  

Lord Matic Special are issued in many variances of dial and case configuration, this specific Lord Matic Special 5206-6120 we are offering is a New Old Stock we found in Japan and the condition of the watch is absolutely epic! The Lord Matic Special is fitted with mid-night blue dial and mirror and brush finished case in a flawless condition. The mid-night blue colour dial is consider as the rarest model in the Seiko 5206 product line. The case shape together with the bubble-like acrylic crystal added the vintage feeling to the watch and makes it a classy and dressy watch for formal occasions.
