Vintage Watch | Seiko Lord Matic 5606 [MINT]

The Seiko Lord Matic vintage watch is an exquisite timepiece that carries on the legacy of Seiko's famous Lord Marvel Line. Most watch geeks may have heard about the Lord Marvel 36000 with the 5740C (36,000bph) movement that earned a special place in the JDM market as the first high-beat watch, and Seiko issued the Lord Matic line in hopes of continuing this legacy. This is an extremely high expectation to a new line of watches and Lord Matic have successfully fulfilled its expectation.

The line was launched in 1968 with all LM models fitted with the sophisticated 56 series movement and high-quality case design and finishing. The Lord Matic quickly gained market demand and its 5605 movement became one of the most ubiquitous Seiko mechanical movements of the time. The technical development of the Lord Matic 5605 movement also formed the basis of higher beat variants fitted to many of the automatic King Seiko and Grand Seiko models of the early to mid-1970s. That said, the 5605 have become one of the most ubiquitous Seiko mechanical movements of the time.

Lord Matic are issued in many variances of dial and case configuration, this specific Lord Matic 5606-7110 we are offering is a extremely rare variances fitted with an extremely brushed finished grey dial with day and date displayed on 3o clock position of the dial and Seiko and LM logo having a balance to put on left side instead of the usual position of 12o clock area. The grey dial changes amazingly when it catches sunlight from different angles!

The case of the watch is rare form. In my opinion, an experimental product from Seiko as we never seen Seiko manufacturing case in this shape again in production. The case is a brushed finished and in angular near the lug. What makes it even more special is the engine turned bezel fitted to the watch, reminds us of the Rolex Datejust from the same era. The design have take the  Seiko Grammer of Design to its furtherest. The hand of the watch is a wide short hand with mirror-finished and a black dashed line unique in the vintage Seiko in the 70s. The overall condition of the watch is just awesome!
