EMBODYING JAPANESE EXPERTISE: THE 4502-8020 KING SEIKO Chronometer
The reference 45-8020 King Seiko different from other King Seiko because it is houses a genuine Hi-Beat movement adjusted to the finest Chronometer Grade Spec that hums along at an impressive 36,000bph. This model is the final King Seiko to house a 10-beat per second, hand-made, high-beat movement. The 45 series, engineered by Seiko's Daini Factory, was the last hand-built King Seiko, with all subsequent King Seikos incorporating machines during manufacturing.
The 4500 movement is from the same series of movements that won Seiko the champion spot in the Swiss Chronometer Competition and this Chronometer is directly lined with the competition winning movement and was later housed in the 45 Grand Seiko as well. With hand-built quality and a 36,000 beat movement, the 45 King Seiko is considered extraordinarily collectible.
The wide case body case, paired with elongated lugs and brush-finishing give it s 70s retro cyber look to the watch, has resulted in a unique design that modern collector love to find.
