Seiko introduced the Lord Matic line with the intention of continuing the Lord Marvel legacy, setting the bar high for this new series of watches. Thanks to Seiko's design expertise, they achieved their goal and more!

The Lord Matic line is equipped with a sophisticated 56 series movement, and sports a high-quality case design and finishing that takes it to new heights of elegance. Although originally positioned just below the King Seiko line, the Lord Matic quickly gained market demand, becoming a sensation in its own right. Its movement, the 5601, emerged as one of the most prevalent Seiko mechanical movements of its time.

This groundbreaking movement laid the foundation for higher-beat variants used in many automatic King Seiko and Grand Seiko models from the early to mid-1970s. The success of the 56 series King and Grand Seikos can be attributed to the technical advancements of the Lord Matic 5601 movement.

Available in a wide variety of dial and case configurations, the specific model we're featuring in our vintage shop is the Lord Matic 5601-9001. It boasts a white straight brush finish dial and a nicely preserved sharp case. This watch has been carefully preserved, with the original mirror polished case finishing on the case still visible. Because it features a Seiko 5601 movement, there is no date function for the watch and Its sword hand just added the simplicity design to the watch.
